Before you head out this Saturday, mark these two events on your list of things to do because there’s nothing better than shopping, unless it would be shopping for a good cause and bagging big bargains. The best kind of multitasking!
Tomorrow make your way to the Fairlington Community Center from 9 a.m.-noon for the Spring Consignment Sale & Expo, hosted by the Fairlington Mom’s Club. Dedicated to serving their community, members provide service projects benefiting all sorts of organizations in the local community, including the Arlington Food Assistance Center and Abingdon Elementary School. For this event, offering the opportunity to shop gently used baby and children’s clothing, maternity wear, toys and a variety of baby gear at a fraction of their original cost (shop between 11 a.m. and noon for 50 percent off children’s clothing and accessories), the profits will suport the March of Dimes. Note: cash-only.

Once you’ve gathered your goodies, stop by the Fairlington Mom’s Club’s vendor fair where you can shop over 12 diverse vendors offering custom products in children’s and mommy accessories, skin care products, baked goods, interior design, photography, etc.

After you’ve uncovered your great finds from the sale & expo event in Arlington, head to beauty haven Bellacara, either location (in Old Town or Merrifield), to celebrate with owner Angela Sitilides on the store’s 13th anniversary, and enjoy goodies too sweet to pass up, like a Swag Bag Blowout from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. But that’s not all; as you survey the latest in spring makeup and more, sip sparkling drinks and snag 15 percent off your total purchase on much-loved brands like Bumble and Bumble, Smashbox and Butter London.
